May 5: GNCPR Founder Monica Peters was co-organizer of Philly Tech Week's 2016 techInColor event. Nearly 100 persons attended. Peters talked to entrepreneurs from the region about "Know Your Mission, Know Your Journey"

 

May 1: Monica Peters named new President of Philadelphia Black Public Relations Society starting May 1, 2016

January 2016

Monica Peters at Twitter headquarters San Francisco for meet-and-greet with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and African American employees the Blackbirds.  Jack discussed diversity during the meeting and addressed over 200 tech geniuses of color from the Bay Area.

October 2015

Monica Peters served as an Innovation and Technology roundtable expert at the National Black Public Relations Society (NBPRS) 2015 State of the Industry Summit in Washington DC. 50 communications and public relations practitioners from around the country were invited to participate in the invite-only summit.

GNCPR Founder, Monica Peters, was keynote speaker along with Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr. closing out the Gordon Parks Tribute & Newsmaker Luncheon honoring the late iconic photographer and film director Gordon Parks where his son was also in attendance.  Over 350 journalists were in attendance at the luncheon which took place in Minneapolis. Minnesota. Luncheon was sponsored by Lionsgate Film, Roc Nation.

GNCPR Founder Monica Peters with ABC's Shark Tank Producer Scott Salyers and Fellow Teammates "Team NoSuspend"

at Qeyno Labs My Brother's Keeper Hackathon 2015 Oakland, CA

Monica also served as a Team NoSuspend mentor. The app won Best Impact Award.  The app tracks the disproportionate suspension rate of African Americans in the Oakland Unified School District. Monica Peters with ABC Shark Tank's Scott Salyers, youth trailblazers and team members from Pandora and Facebook
